Inedo is hosting their first user conference this year, and wanted a logo that was similar to their current logo, but a variation on it that also made it recognizable on it's own.
In order to brand our user conference as well as maintain consistency across the years, we will create a specific “InedoCon” logo, heavily based off Inedo’s logo.
This logo will appear on the event’s website, newsletters, Inedo blog, swag, etc.
An aesthetically-pleasing logo that communicates the relationship to the Inedo brand and is also an event.
The logo should be heavily based off our own logo and can either include the year in the design (such that it can be swapped out everyyear) or the logo can be “timeless” and the year will need to appear in print separately. Naturally, we will categorize the event annually.
To begin I decided I wanted to iterate on Inedo's logo by manipulating the graphic to feel like it was growing or moving upward, to convey Inedo's expansion into the user conference world.
From these options, Inedo's' COO selected two he wanted me to move forward with. On this iteration, I really focused on making sure the logo would read well small, and made the decision to manipulate the spacing of the shapes and the letters until I found what worked well at any size.
The logo with the gray background was the selected version. I finalized it and mocked up a few conference swag items for event promotion.
I also created business cards that will be handed out at conferences Inedo attends to spread the word.
